Today I Learned...That Italics Originated in Italy
(About.com) This might be one of those blinding flashes of the obvious, but I didn't realize until today that the italic type form originated in Italy. Thus the name: italics. Duh.
Webster's Dictionary says the italic form was so named when inventor Aldus Manut
